On the morning of Wednesday, 16 Dhu al-Qa’dah 1446 AH (May 14, 2025), the residence of the religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi (may his shadow endure), in the holy city of Qom, hosted another of his regular scholarly sessions. The gathering was attended by scholars, seminarians, and followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The session included discussions on various jurisprudential issues and Islamic rulings. Numerous questions were posed in areas of jurisprudence, theology, history, social matters, and ethics, in addition to inquiries about the meanings of select verses from the Holy Qur’an. Grand Ayatollah Shirazi responded to these questions with detailed and comprehensive explanations.

Topics addressed included:

• Rulings on fasting for those suffering from extreme thirst (Dhi al-‘Atash),
• The proper timing for performing and making up the Salat al-Ayat (prayer of signs),
• The meaning of jabr (compulsion) and tafwid (delegation) in relation to human actions,
• The ruling on one who believes in wahdat al-wujud (unity of existence),
• The concept and instances of religious rituals (sha‘a’ir),
• The types and rulings of general istishab (presumption of continuity).
